About the trainer:

Magdalena Szumna is an Intercultural Communication (IC) enthusiast and trainer with a passion for helping people who work in culturally diverse teams develop their cultural competency, ultimately allowing them to thrive.

Before stepping in the IC field Magdalena worked for nearly a decade in a number of international companies, over the past 8 years having held commercial roles on a global level of a multinational corporate.  She has gained extensive firsthand experience in navigating multicultural business environment. Born and raised in Poland, Magdalena  spent different lengths of time living an expat life. Finally just under seven years ago her carrier brought her to the Netherlands where she currently lives and works.

In her daily job she has witnessed how (inter)cultural competency – and the lack of it – can truly impact teams performance and job satisfaction. How much energy could be saved and how much frustration avoided should people be better equipped to work across cultures. And it is why she is driven to share her experience and knowledge in the field of intercultural communication.

Sociologist with major in cultural anthropology by training, and an avid traveler by nature – Magdalena feels passionate about enabling people to see themselves and the others with a new lens, turning every intercultural encounter into an opportunity for creating inclusive and equitable environment for all.
